There’s something about the first hint of spring that makes everything feel lighter. The days stretch a little longer, the air feels softer — and suddenly we’re ready to open the windows, shake off the heaviness of winter, and breathe some fresh life into our wardrobes.

At Mrs Pete’s Shed, we think of spring as a reset. Not a full overhaul, but a gentle edit: taking stock of what you love, letting go of what no longer feels like “you,” and making room for pieces that feel fresh, easy, and endlessly wearable.

Living here in Bowral, in the heart of the Southern Highlands, spring brings its own rhythm. The days can still carry a cool edge, so layering is essential — pieces that work with the lingering chill of morning but feel light and effortless once the sun is out.

Here’s how we like to approach it:

  • Edit with intention. Pull everything out and ask, Does this make me feel good when I wear it? If the answer’s no, it might be time to pass it on. You might want to read our Journal post - The Wardrobe Cull: Clear the Clutter, Elevate Your Style for some great tips on where to start.

  • Revisit old favourites. A beloved piece can feel brand new when styled differently — layered with something lighter, paired with a fresh accessory, or simply worn with a new confidence.

  • Add thoughtful heroes. This season, think airy cotton blouses, breathable knits, soft linen, and simple jackets in natural tones and classic black. Pieces that layer with ease and carry you comfortably through the months ahead.

  • Keep it simple. A well-edited wardrobe makes getting dressed feel easy — and that’s where the joy is.

Our spring collection was chosen with exactly this in mind: relaxed silhouettes, timeless fabrics, and versatile pieces that slot effortlessly into what you already own. They’re not about chasing trends, but about creating space for lightness, comfort, and confidence.

So this spring, take a moment to reset. Open the doors, clear a little space, and make room for a wardrobe that feels lighter and easier to wear.
